In the fall of 1984 my friend Bryan Ambacher and I set out to scratch-build accurate Ghostbusters Proton Packs on a very limited budget.

 

Through a combination of luck, ingenuity, and some talent we were able to largely achieve that goal within five months of the movie's original June, 1984 opening.

 

This site features never-before-published photos of a hero pack taken in September of 1984, along with background leading up to our builds, our original plans, contemporary 3D renders of how we built our packs, and photos and videos of our completed props.

 

To this day we both remain quite proud of what we were able to achieve over thirty years ago.  We hope our fellow prop builders enjoy poking around this site.
