Time Team America - The Lost Pueblo Village
For this 2014 PBS series produced by Oregon Public Broadcasting, 3D animation represented the ideal medium to recreate artifacts and structures of a 1500-year-old Basketmaker III village in Colorado. Consulting directly with archaeologists via Skype we modeled and surfaced the interiors and exteriors of a pit house and kiva, the exterior of the entire village, and multiple artifacts derived from archaeological fragments unearthed by the team. This was a challenging, but rewarding, project.

We worked with the Marshalls on a PBS prime time archeology series called “Time Team America”. We wanted to re-create ancient dwellings based on artifacts uncovered at the dig sites. We asked the Marshalls to re-create a Native American “pit-house” in 3-D, allowing viewers to “fly through” the dwelling in a way that would bring it to life. Thanks to their motion graphics, recovered artifacts suddenly morphed into a centuries old dwelling. Their work was key to our story telling, and they were a pleasure to work with.
