Shawn Marshall

Creative Lead and Animator

For as long as I can remember I’ve loved creating things. It started with building model kits of the USS Enterprise, the Flying Sub, X-Wings, dinosaurs, and more. Later, I was using a used Super-8 camera and stop motion animation to bring those model dinosaurs to life. At the University of Arizona, after a brief flirtation with engineering, I elected to pursue my creative passions and study Television and Film production, my projects leaning heavily into science fiction and special effects.

Multiple stints at local television affiliates and two Emmys later, the advent of professional-quality desktop video production and 3D animation opened a whole new world to explore. When working with clients I bring everything I’ve learned to fulfill their vision. My engineering and science training help me analyze and understand the requirements of the project. I ask a LOT of questions. Working under the pressures of daily live television gave me a great respect for meeting deadlines under every circumstance. I can create under pressure. My film and television directing experience informs the movement and compositions I use in 3D animation and motion graphics. I feel well-suited to the melding of the technical and the creative my digital work requires.

I still enjoy building props, models and costumes in my free time, along with playing indoor volleyball.

Lisa Marshall

Owner, Business Manager and Designer

After working for over 15 years in commercial television doing graphics and animations for the news and promotions departments, I realized that the only way to get a more professional and diverse experience was to change the dynamic.

Moving to Portland, and the opportunities it presented, was the first step in my plan to convince Shawn to start our own business. The connections we made here were crucial to our success.

We have worked hard the past 20 years and have enjoyed the creativity and freedom that our business has afforded us. All of the creative people that we have had the pleasure of working with in Oregon, Washington and California has made the last 20 years go by quickly.

I’ve also had the opportunity to study and to pursue my painting here in the Pacific Northwest.

I am currently represented by Art in the Village Gallery in Multnomah Village in Portland.
